The B.Voc. program in Agriculture Technology is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to address the challenges and opportunities in the agricultural sector. This multidisciplinary program integrates theoretical learning with practical training to prepare students for careers in various aspects of modern agriculture, including crop production, soil management, pest control, agricultural machinery, and farm management.
The curriculum covers a wide range of subjects, including agronomy, horticulture, plant pathology, entomology, soil science, agricultural engineering, precision farming, and agricultural marketing. Students learn about sustainable farming practices, crop diversification, organic farming methods, and the use of technology in agriculture, such as GIS, remote sensing, and precision agriculture tools.
Through hands-on training and fieldwork, students gain practical experience in crop cultivation, irrigation techniques, greenhouse management, post-harvest handling, and farm machinery operation. They also learn about the latest advancements in agricultural biotechnology, genetics, and crop improvement techniques.
The program emphasizes entrepreneurship and innovation in agriculture, encouraging students to develop new technologies, products, and solutions to address agricultural challenges and meet the growing demand for food, fiber, and bioenergy. Graduates of this program can pursue diverse career opportunities in agriculture-related industries, including agribusiness firms, farming cooperatives, agricultural research institutions, government agencies, and international organizations.
